Cloud based computing for daily lifeCloud based computing is a fairly recent technology that is bringing convenience in a way that has not been seen before. It explores the internet as a resource, and uses it as a gateway to the offering of computing services. Cloud computing describes the process of offering or delivering services to end-customers through the internet. Traditionally, users had to install software and applications on their devices so that they could run and use them. Cloud computing is geared towards overcoming this hassle, through provision of a cloud service. It is virtually a collection of resources, ranging from software, to data and applications, all of which can be accessed via a standard web browser.

Cloud computing provides one of the greatest conveniences of this age. The availability of high-speed internet and the increased demand for computing services is what inspired it. Instead of acquiring computing hardware resources, one can effortlessly acquire the computing services they desire, and at a manageable fee. These savings made on capital expenditure can be directed elsewhere, making cloud based computing a perfect solution to small enterprises that lack the capital to acquire said computing resources.

The cloud can either be public or private, in which case, only a select number of people are allowed access to the cloud resources. Different kinds of devices can be used to access the cloud. These cloud-clients, as they are so called, range from computers to tablets and smartphones. No special software is needed to gain access, as a browser usually suffices. However, there are instances when dedicated software is needed for access, but this is more of an exception.

The advantages of using cloud computing services are near countless. Access to data or applications is not limited to physical locations. It guarantees business continuity, and with the complex security measures taken, it is much more reliable than traditional systems previously used. Suffice it to say that cloud computing is indeed the future.
